underage Drinking

UNDER AGE DRINKING. IS IT IN YOU?
    By Soren Barker

" MAN I SURE GOT DRUNK ON SATURDAY!"

Have you heard this line before?

I know I have. In the Library, the Hallways, the Art Room, the Lunch Room, the Bathroom.
It can be heard everywhere!

So if it's heard all over, it must be fun, Right?

Sure, if you think not knowing what happened last night and feeling
sick the next day is fun. Sure!

And if it happens so much it must be safe, right? WRONG!!!

Alcohol is a depressant and impairs your vision, judgement and balance.

That means you won't be able to see where your walking! Not to mention driving!

But what kills teens more than drunk driving is drunk walking-slipping-into-a-pool-and-drowning,
or burning yourself because your too out of it to now whats going on.

But wait! You might argue that"at least alcohol is safer than other drugs."

Nope thats not true! Alcohol kills 6.5 times more youth then all the other illegal drugs COMBINED!!

So what can we do? If you want to stay safe from this tempting pastime, just keep busy.
Research has shown that bored teens find stupid things to do with too much free time.
Join clubs and teams like math team and the writting club, and stuff like that.
As also with the sports team, all of the athletes have to sign a pledge pledging
abstinence from drugs and alcohol. So there's another way to avoid it.

And remember if you are already drinking at a high school age,
you WILL get caught eventually--and it is ILLEGAL.
So just help yourself and don't do it anymore ok? Cool!
